Dark Side Night Walk in Kabukicho, Shinjuku.

As the sun begins to set, Shinjuku begins to show a different face. Friday and Saturday nights are very crowded. Just strolling around Shinjuku at night is a lot of fun, so please be sure to visit Shinjuku when you come to Japan.

Kabukicho is much larger than you might imagine and is divided into many different areas. For example, there is a drinking district, an entertainment district, a fashion district, and an adult district. Basically, the area is safe, but you need to be careful on dark or deserted streets. Malicious catch salesmen will call out to you relentlessly.

A large city always has two faces, one for daytime and the other for nighttime. Shinjuku is no exception. It’s fun at night, too!
